David Edward Sams

David Edward Sams, age 39, of Cumming, GA, passed away on March 14, 2024.

David was born in Atlanta, GA on January 16, 1985, to Steve and Lanelle Sams. He had a brilliant mind and a passion for learning and exploring life. David was a talented artist with interests in painting, music, film, screenwriting and more. He was deeply spiritual and was known by all to be a compassionate and kind soul who would give his last dollar to help someone in need. David was a genuine and loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend to many and was loved deeply by all who knew him.

David is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Virginia Buice Sams, of Atlanta, GA and his maternal grandparents, Travis Ray and Barbara Harmon Day of New Hope, AL.

David is survived by his parents, Steven Edward and Lanelle Day Sams, of Cumming, GA, his sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn Sams Knox and Kyle Knox, of Alpharetta, GA, his paternal grandfather, James Edward Sams, of Atlanta, GA, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Celebration of David’s Life will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 11:00am in the chapel at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA at 210 Ingram Ave, Cumming, GA 30040. The family will receive friends and family at their home following the service. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in David’s honor to humanitarian organizations such as Save the Children or CARE.
