Dollie Woodruff, a cherished soul whose spirit graced the lives of many, was born on December 6,1964 in Duluth, Georgia. She departed from this life on October 6, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, determination, and joy.
Dollie was not just a high school graduate; she was embodiment of resilience and joy, a woman who truly lived life to its fullest. Her infectious laughter and bright smile lit up every room, and warmth made her beloved by all who had the privilege to know her.
An avid participant in the Special Olympics, Dollie found immense joy in competing in sports such as bocce ball, table tennis, and bowling, blending her love for athletics with her vibrant spirit. The camaraderie and thrill of competition reflected her zest for life and her desire to uplift and inspire those around her.
Her journey was, however, intertwined with heartache. Dollie experienced profound loss throughout her life, including the passing of the love of her life Tony Echols, parents, Olin and Pearl Woodruff, and her beloved brothers, Tony and Ray Woodruff, as well as her brother-in-law, Buddy Vancott, her brother-in-law Larry Cantrell, and her nephew, Doug Cantrell.
Despite the challenges she faced, Dollie’s life was deeply enriched by the love of her family. She is survived by her siblings: Pauline Vancott of Crawfordville, FL, William Woodruff (Robin) of Auburn, GA, Gail Cantrell of Cumming, Ga., and Lee Woodruff (Phyllis) of Tallahassee, Fl. nieces and nephews; Randy and Stephen Cantrell, Crystal Briggs, Emily Marical, Michael and Amanda Woodruff, Keith and Chris Woodruff, Ronnie and Tommy Woodruff and William “Buckshot” Vancott. Together, they carry forward her spirit, memories, and the lessons she imparted through her kindness and laughter.
To honor Dollie's remarkable life, visitation services will be held on October 11, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory in Cumming, GA, followed by a funeral service on October 12, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Dollie’s memory will live on in the hearts of all those she touched, as stories of her kindness, courage, and enthusiasm for life continue to resonate.
As we reflect on Dollie's life, we are reminded of the joy she brought and the love she shared. Her legacy is one of perseverance and encouragement, leaving an indelible mark that will remain in our hearts forever. Rest in peace, dear Dollie; you are profoundly missed but never forgotten.
