Dominick (Nick) Joseph Cullen

Dominick (Nick) Joseph Cullen, 88, of Cumming, GA passed away on January 9, 2024.  Mr. Cullen was born on August 19, 1935 in Clydebank, Scotland to the late Dominick and Annie Deery Cullen.  He was the middle child of 6 siblings.  

Mr. Cullen immigrated to the United States in 1962, settling in the suburbs of Chicago where he met his wife.  They later lived in Fort Atkinson, WI and moved to Georgia in 1977, living in Calhoun for over 40 years before moving to Cumming.  

Mr. Cullen was a registered nurse having completed his education and medical training at Brompton Hospital and the Royal Halifax Infirmary in London, England.  Mr. Cullen’s medical career spanned over 50 years where he held positions in nursing administration, cardiac care, dialysis and hospice care.  He was a past member of the American Academy of Medical Administrators, Rotary International and The Knights of Columbus.

A man of few words, Mr. Cullen had a quick wit and dry sense of humor.  He enjoyed gardening, golfing, reading, listening to a wide array of music, researching his ancestry, cheering on the Celtic Football Club and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Evie of Cumming, GA; daughter Mary (Steve) Miller of Stockbridge, GA; daughter Ann (Mike) Nolan of Johns Creek, GA; grandsons Shaun Miller, Patrick Nolan and Christopher Nolan; sister Catherine Doherty of Clydebank, Scotland; sister Ann Culleton of Crewe, England; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Cullen was preceded in death by his sister Mary Theresa and brothers John, Patrick and Charles.

In accordance with his wishes, no service will be held for Mr. Cullen.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Parkinson’s Foundation.
