Born in Cleveland Ohio. Served as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps Honorably discharged on 2nd day of July 1946.
He breathed his last on earth and took his first breath in heaven on July 10, 2012.
Preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Harrivel and his brother Clarence (Tom) Harrivel.
He is survived by his brother George (Elane) Harrivel; his wife of 64 years, Ruth Harrviel.
His children: Nancy Kelley and Rick (Jean) Harrivel.
Grandchildren: Paul (Megan) Harrivel and Justin Kelley.
Great Grandchildren: Tommy Parker and Nola Harrivel.
And numerous nephews and nieces.
He loved being outside in nature. Sailing loved the water. Started snow skiing in his 60s through early 80s. Played Tennis into his 80s, He enjoyed gardening, (you should see his garden) was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards, dancing with his bride and attending a mens Bible study.
Don had a servants heart: Serving many years as ESL teacher, delivering meals on wheels, traveling to remote locations for storm/hurricane cleanup and throughout his life was active in multiple repair ministry projects.
A Man of faith, family & flag - he was very patriotic (proud to serve during WWII) - A Marine through and through. Ooh-Rah!!! Semper Fi.
Don leaves a living legacy of integrity, honor, and service this was truly his heart.
Memorial service will be held on: Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 2:00p
At: Christ the King Lutheran Church, 5575 Peachtree Parkway, Norcross, GA 30092
(The family will be receiving guests at the reception following the service.)
