Donald Gwendell Lamb, age 63 of Cumming, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013. He was a deacon of Settendown Baptist Church, a loving husband, father, friend and grandpa to many that loved him in return. He had retired from the Georgia Power Company where he was a devoted employee for 32 years. Donald is preceded in death by his first wife, Becky Bryant Lamb; his father, John Edgar Lamb; and his son-in-law, Matthew Phillips. He is survived by his wife, Claire Mangham Lamb; mother, Virginia Lamb; daughter, Eve Phillips; step-daughters, Lisa (Chris) Hursey, Robin (Corey) Tracy; step-son, Robert (Kari) Thornton, Jr.; grandchildren, Joshua and Jackson Hursey, Ella, Amelia, and John Robert Thornton III, Bryce Funk; sisters, Dorothy (Jackie) Thomason, Judy (Talmadge) Adams; brothers, Charles (Sally) Lamb, Dennis (Rita) Lamb, Michael (Connie) Lamb; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Estes, Rev. Kyle Lamb and Rev. Chris Kyle officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will hold visitation at the funeral home on Monday from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, from 9 a.m. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Coal Mountain Baptist Church or Settendown Baptist Church in Donald's name .
