Donald "Jake" Jacobs

JACOBS, Donald Maloy Jake
74, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on June 30th, 2011. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Jake was born in Louisville on November 4th, 1936. He spent his childhood in Asheville, NC until graduating in 1954 from Lee H. Edwards High School. He served in the United States Navy, was a University of Louisville Graduate and member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity. He was a Parts Control Analyst at the Ford Motor Company Kentucky Truck Plant for 35 years. He was a devoted University of Louisville sports fan, an avid reader and traveler, and loved playing golf with his friends on a regular basis.

Jake is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Wanda Sue Jacobs; children, Amy Jacobs, Lisa MacKendrick (Ray), Susan Dukes (Tim), and Marty Byars (Cindy); sister, Suzanne Gershen (Ron); grandchildren, Ellie and Katie MacKendrick, Macy Dukes, Taylor Byars Bunch, Paxton and Shelton Byars, and cousin Vicki Powell.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Helen Jacobs, and nephew Marty Powell.
A celebration of his life memorial service will be on Tuesday, July 5th at 5pm at Westport Road Church of Christ, 4500 Westport Road in Louisville, KY. Minister Arnis Pape will be officiating.
