Donald J Savini
passed away June 1, 2012 at age 72. He was born in Forest View, Illinois on April 23, 1940 to Irene and Julius Savini, and he was the elder brother to Dennis Savini. His childhood and teenage years were spent in Oak Park and Berwyn, Illinois. In 1961, Don enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed state side for three years with a final year spent overseas in Pleiku, Vietnam. In 1963, on a blind date, he met his future wife Sharon Binkley. They started their lives together in San Francisco with a few stops in Chicago and Maryland before finally landing in Atlanta in 1978. They had both of their daughters in Chicago, Diana in 1968 and Debbie in 1971. Don and Sharon just celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary. Don was an Engineering Sales Rep for 30 years and retired from Control Southern at age 66. Don was thrilled to become a PaPa three times with the birth of Wyatt Anthony in 2009, Gabriella Grace in 2010 and Tegan Rose in 2011. He was looking forward to the birth of his fourth grand child later this year. Don enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His sense of adventure was obvious with his many travels abroad and numerous cruising excursions. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dons name to Disabled American Veterans or the American Cancer Society.
Don/Dad/Papa we will all miss you terribly.
