Donald Ray Jordan

Donald Ray Jordan, 88, of Cumming, GA passed away July 26, 2022. Mr. Jordan was born in Atlanta, GA to the late Durward and Mattie Camp Jordan. Donald was a member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church in Cumming. He was the owner and operator of Jordan Construction andhad an excellent reputation as a custom home builder. Mr. Jordan was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He lettered in 4 sports in high school, resulting in several college scholarship offers. Instead of taking a college offer, he opted to play minor league baseball for the Mobile Bears.  

Donald was known by his family, friends, and community as a very tough “man’s man” and a man of principles.  He was always there to help others get things done or to help solve difficult problems.  If he committed to help, you would expect him to arrive fifteen minutes early.  Donald wasn’t one who often shared his love verbally; instead, he preferred to demonstrate his love with behaviors and actions. 

Donald is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Joyce “JJ” Jordan; children and their spouses, Sharon & Mike Freeman, Donna Jordan, Steve & Kimberly Jordan, Lisa Jo & Russell Cash, Shelley & Steve Green; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 pm Monday, August 1, 2022, in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Bennett officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, GA 30040
