Donald Ray “Don” Watson, a cherished husband, father, Papa, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away on April 23, 2024, in his hometown of Cumming, Georgia. Born to Emmett and Dorothy Watson in 1946, Don was a true Forsyth County native through and through, his life and legacy deeply interwoven with the community he loved and served.
After graduating from Forsyth Central High School in 1964, Don enlisted in the Air Force, a chapter he held in high esteem. Don's passions were diverse – from traveling, camping, the allure of classic cars, and the thrill of bass fishing, a pursuit that garnered him both trophies and great tales of “the one that got away.” In 1966, he united in marriage with his soulmate, Linda, forging a bond filled with love, laughter, and the shared journey of raising their two children.
His cherished grandchildren, Eva, Owen, and Giavanna will forever hold dear memories of their Papa's unwavering love, infectious laughter, nostalgic stories of the good old days, and the his ever-stocked snack pantry.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife Linda of 56 years, his parents Emmett and Dorothy, his brother Larry, and his sister Jean, Don's memory is lovingly preserved by his children Sandy (husband Rick Bellocchio) and Mike (wife Lauren Watson), grandchildren Eva, Owen, and Gia, his brother David, (wife Melanie Watson) and many nieces and nephews.
