Donna Black died on April 17, 2012 at Northside Forsyth Hospital in Cumming, Georgia. She was 83.
She was a skilled homemaker and gardener who enjoyed spending time with her family. During her spare time, she enjoyed playing bridge and working crossword puzzles. She was a caring and loving mother, grandmother and friend. She will be remembered for her selfless acts of love and her passion for cooking. Although she has left this earthly world, we find comfort knowing she is with our savior, Jesus Christ.
She was born in Toledo, Ohio on March 16, 1929, and lived there until her early twenties when she moved to Warner Robins, Georgia. Later, she moved to East Point, and then to Alpharetta, where she lived approximately 20 years. She lived in Suwanee, Georgia for the past 12 years of her life. She worked for the Federal Aviation Administration, First Data Resources, and North Fulton Senior Services. She also volunteered approximately 200 hours as a Pink Lady to North Fulton Hospital, where she was recognized in a pinning ceremony in the early 1990's.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Karen Black and four grandchildren, Madison, Adam, Mary Ann, and Sarah. A Celebration of Life ceremony will take place at the First Baptist Church of Alpharetta on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 2pm.
