Dorcas Mccleskey Thompson

Mrs. Dorcas McCleskey Thompson, age 83 of Alpharetta, GA, passed away Friday, August 21, 2009. She was a member of Midway United Methodist Church and a devoted and loving wife and mother. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents, Pierce and Jessie McCleskey; son, David Lanier Thompson; brothers, Preston Buck McCleskey and Ray McCleskey. Survivors include her husband, Mr. Ralph Everett Thompson of Alpharetta; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon Thompson of Alpharetta, Rita and Jim Thomas and Patrice and Jerry Godby all of Cumming; brothers and sister-in-law, Henry H.G. McCleskey and Pierce P.J. Jr. and Nancy McCleskey all of Cumming; sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha and Robert Burruss and Vivian and Nathaniel Hansard all of Cumming; sisters-in-law, Wyolene McCleskey and Frances McCleskey both of Cumming; 2 grandchildren, Graham Thomas and Evin Godby; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marjean and Dan Haney of Alpharetta; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives also survive. A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, August 23rd at 2:00 pm at Midway United Methodist Church with Dr. Lee A. Almy, Jr. and Rev. Bud Sutton officiating. Entombment will follow at Sawnee View Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Saturday, Aug. 22nd from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Sunday, Aug. 23rd from 9:00am until time of service.
