Doris Nanny Hicks

Doris Nanny Hicks, 87, of Canton passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019. Nanny was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, canning, westerns and game shows on television. She loved everyone unconditionally, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Nanny is preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Hicks and was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, Sandra and Herb Denny, James B. and Faribell Hicks, and Linda Kincaid, all of Canton; sister, Barbara Gordon; sister-in-law, Gladys Mashburn; brother-in-law, Glen Hicks; 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 15, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Padgett officiating. Interment will follow at North Atlanta Memorial Park in Doraville.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
