Dorothy Jean Collins

Dorothy Jean Walls Collins, age 83, of Cumming passed away Friday, May 13, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Guy and Myrtle Martin Walls of Cumming, Ga. Mrs. Collins was best known as a 7th grade Social Studies teacher and a Pastor’s wife. She played the piano and loved to sing in church. She was a member of Silver Shoals Baptist Church. Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Douglas Allen Collins;great grandson, Lucas Allen Collins; sisters Lillian Brooks, Wylene Brooks, and Geraldine Walls; and brother, Marcus Walls.

She is survived by her sons Mitchell (Wanda) Collins and Tim (Dianne) Collins; grandchildren, Nicolas (Loren) Collins, Christopher Collins, Patrick (Hannah) Collins, Cameron (Lydia) Collins, and Alyssa Collins; sisters, Oretta (Bobby) Trammel and Voncile Smith; brother, Sherrell (Carol) Walls; sister-in-laws, Brenda Chester Ramey, Pat Collins Stephens, Martha Walls Dixon; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 18, at 11 AM at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Akins, Rev. RuelMartin, and Rev. Greg Rawlins officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 17 from 4-9 PM, and Wednesday, May 18 from 9 AM until hour of service.In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Silver Shoals Baptist Church (c/o Johnny Millwood,6630 Lawson Circle, Gainesville, GA 30506) in her memory.
