Dorothy Elaine Ross, age 89, passed away on September 30, 2016, in Cumming, GA. She was born in Chicago, IL, on July 24, 1927. Dorothy married Douglas E. Ross on October 19, 1946. Dorothy was a loving wife of her husband, Douglas E. Ross, who predeceased her in 2001. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Dorothy retired from the Kellogg Company in Battle Creek, MI, after 30 years. She was an active member of the Sonoma United Methodist Church in Battle Creek, leading Sunday School. With her husband Doug, they started a Boy Scout troop at the church. They moved to Melbourne, FL in 1988. They were members of the First United Methodist Church of Melbourne. Dorothy was an active member and circle leader in the United Methodist Women's organization. She developed her interest in sewing and crafts, making gifts for her grandchildren, and cleverly designed and made table decorations for every event hosted by the United Methodist Women. She is survived by her 3 children, Douglas "Buzz" E. Ross Jr. and wife Lee, of Marco Island, FL, Gary Scott Ross and wife Kathy of Linden, MI, Susan Lynn Ross of Cumming, GA; 5 grandchildren, Julie Lesko and her husband Joe, Lisa DeLuca and her husband Jeff, Clayton Plummer, Andrew Kruse-Ross and his wife Sue, and Patrick Kruse-Ross and his wife Erica; 7 great grandchildren, Olivia, Savannah, Isabella Lesko, Aiden and Ethan DeLuca, Delilah and Joseph Kruse-Ross; sister, Cheryl Remstedt; niece, Jodie Remstedt of Melbourne, FL. Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 8, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Bethelview United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends Friday, October 7, 2016 at the funeral home, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's association at www.alz.org Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, Cumming, GA is in charge of arrangements.
