Dorothy Day Holbrook

Dorothy Day Holbrook, 89 of Forsyth County affectionately known as ( Mama Dot ) passed away the morning of Nov. 5, 2024 with Gary, Becky & caregiver Debbie Larue by her side at home. She was born in Forsyth County and a 73 year faithful member of Long Street Baptist Church, where she loved her church family. She was a loving and faithful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother & sister. She was proceeded in death by her husband John S. Holbrook (1986), daughter of Ed Hawkins Day & Exie Mae Payne Day. Also proceeded in death by 3 brothers Crafton Day, Louis Day, Roy Day and one sister Betty Day Stone.

She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law Gary & Becky Holbrook, grandchildren Shane (Jenny) Holbrook of Sidney Ohio, Jason Holcomb of Alpharetta, Hope ( Shane) Dinsmore of Simpsonville S.C. and Dusty Holbrook of Cumming, Ga. She is survived by 5 great grandchildren Hannah & Nathan Holcomb, Conner Dinsmore, Alex & Abby Holbrook. Several nieces & Nephews, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Diane Holbrook, sister-in-law, Syble McGinnis.

Mother never met a stranger and within a few minutes she would find out who you are, who your kin to and where you were from. She enjoyed cooking for family and church family.

Mother had a 15 year battle with Alzheimer’s and the last 9 years she was bed ridden and kept at home with the great help, compassion & love from caregivers Debby LaRue, Rene Johnson and Becky Holbrook!! Also so thankful to Susan Amos of Blue Ridge Hospice and Palliative Care and the nurses of Center Well Home Care.

Funeral Services will held at Ingram Funeral Home Saturday November 9th 2024 with the Rev. Danny Bennet officiating. The family will receive friends from 11am to 1pm and services will start at 1pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at Green Lawn Cemetery in Roswell, Ga. at 2pm.
