Dorothy Jane Edmunds

Dorothy Jane Shermer Edmunds, age 73, of Cumming, died on April 3, 2015. Dorothy "Dot" is survived by her husband of 47 years, Robert G, "Bob" Edmunds of Cumming, GA; two daughters, Jennifer Edmunds DeFoor of Cumming, GA, her two children, Deaton DeFoor of Cornelia and Robert DeFoor of Cumming, GA and Krista Edmunds DeFoor of Athens, GA, her husband, James Stacy DeFoor and their six children, Austin Ryan DeFoor, James Hunter DeFoor, Emily-Jane Madisen DeFoor, Franklin Michael DeFoor, Robin Miley DeFoor and Carson Brock DeFoor all of Athens. Dorothy also has numerous other extended family and close friends that she leaves behind. Dorothy was born on March 12, 1942 in Atlanta, GA to Alonzo Angel Shermer and Addie D. Shermer. Dorothy was a wife, mother and homemaker for over 40 years. Dorothy was an active member of her community and very involved in school and church activities with her husband and girls throughout the years. She touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Gaines officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
