Dorothy Sanders Mangum, 97. died December 18, 2011 at her residence in Norcross, Ga.
Mrs. Mangum was a native of Greenville, S.C. She graduated from Spartanburg (SC) High School and business school.
She was the daughter of the late Mack W. and Annie Sanders and the widow of Alvin J. (Bill) Mangum, a City of Greenville (SC) police officer who died in 1953. Prior to her retirement in 1976, she was a bookkeeper for Rey's Jewelers in Greenville for more than 30 years.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by sisters Helen S. Blackwell and Marion S. Blanton and a brother, Young Jesse (Buck) Sanders.
She is survived by a son, Jerry R. (Julia) Sanders of Barnwell, S.C., and a daughter, Patricia M. (Steve) Jones of Norcross, Ga.; three grandchildren, Debra S. (Steve) Garland of Gatlinburg, TN; Jerianne S. (Jody) Peele and Janet Patricia (Dan) Biggerstaff, both of Mount Pleasant, SC; six great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, two nieces and a nephew.
