Doug Scott

Doug Scott, 78, of Cumming, GA passed away June 15, 2022. Mr. Scott was born in  Chattanooga, TN to the late Clay and Imogene Cartwright Scott. Doug served in the U.S. Army and was a true American patriot. He was a graduate of Berry College in Rome, GA.  Mr. Scott retired as a district sales manager with Ace Hardware and Do It Best Hardware.  Besides being known for a “jack of all trades”, he will be better remembered as a Christian man who loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Doug was an amazing guitarist and a lover of music. He traveled to play music in his early teenage years, had a band the Vagabonds in his college years, and later in life joined his son Kevin in the band Gold Rush. He seemed to never miss a baseball game or life event for his sons or grandchildren. He was youthful and full of life. He loved a good road trip and was everybody’s “best friend”. Doug is preceded in death by his first wife Sara Scott and brother, Randy Scott.

Mr. Scott is survived by his loving wife Phyllis Scott; sons and daughters in-law, Michael & Liana Scott, Kevin & Charity Scott, Chris & Melody Scott; step children and their spouses Gretchen & Matt Johnson, Kevin & Caitlin Bailey, Bryan & Staci Bailey; 11 grandchildren: Dakota Scott, Savannah (Neal) Schickinger, Adrianna (Austin) Blankenship, Phoenix Scott, Katelyn (Forrest) King, Carley Bailey, Cayden Bailey, Casen Bailey, Ansley Bailey and Chase Bailey; 5 great grandchildren: Everett Ellis, Paisley Blankenship, Owen Schickinger, Ruby King and Mack King.
