Douglas Wurster, age 78, of Cumming, GA, formally of Cleveland, OH, passed away peacefully in his home on July 26. Doug is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Pat, his sister Barbara Earnest (William) of Deland, FL, many nieces and nephews, and his canine companion, Ollie.
Doug grew up in Hamilton, OH and graduated from Bowling Green State University. He became a Communications Officer in the U.S. Navy, serving a tour of duty in the Vietnam War. Upon completion of his service, Doug graduated from Emory University School of Dentistry. He had successful dental practice for 35 years in Tucker, GA, where he was dearly loved by his patients, and extra special staff. He maintained those relationships long after his retirement.
He participated in many sports over the years, including racquetball, golf, fishing, and pickleball. Doug also traveled with his wife, staff, and close friends to many parts of the world, enjoying the local lifestyles and customs.
Doug will be missed by his many friends. He has requested that there be no funeral or Celebration of Life at this time. In his remembrance, donations can be made to: The Humane Society of Forsyth County, 4440 Keith Bridge Rd., Cumming, GA 30040.
