Dr. Bahjat Alfred Faraj, age 76, of Cumming, Ga passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019. Bahjat was born in 1942 in Basra, Iraq to the late Alfred and Elsie Faraj. After being raised in the Middle East, he immigrated to the United States where he married the late Elizabeth Warner; they had two children (Danielle and Robert). After earning his doctorate in medicinal chemistry, he worked for Emory University School of Medicine for over 40 years, retiring in 2013 as Director of Radiopharmacy in Nuclear Medicine.
Bahjat is survived by his wife, Sharon Faraj; children, Danielle (Matt) Rankin, Robert (Ann- Marie Madigan) Faraj; stepchildren, Craig Behan, Cari Behan, Kelly (Sam) Barry, Christopher Behan; siblings, Hikmat (Najwa) Faraj, Pierre (Lawahez) Faraj; grandchildren, Carlie, Charlie, Maya, Neve, Elsie, Warner, and baby on the way for Robert and Ann-Marie.
Funeral services for Bahjat will be held Sunday, March 3, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, Ga with Rev. Kathie Stasko officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Covenant House (covenanthouse.org) in Bahjats name
