Earl R. Thibodeau

Earl R. Thibodeau, 76, of Cumming, GA passed away December 12, 2023.  Earl was born August 14, 1947 in Caribou, ME to the late Alban & Carmen Thibodeau.  Earl enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1965 and retired as a Chief Petty Officer.  He was stationed in Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Georgia.  He retired with 20 years of faithful service.  Following his retirement from the Navy, Earl took on a second career also retiring from the Paulding County DOT.  

He was a devoted and loving husband survived by his wife of 55 years, Rose Ann; son, Jeffrey Thibodeau; daughter, Christi (Vann) Riley; grandchildren, Brayden, Grant, and Blake Riley; brother, Galen (Brenda) Thibodeau; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Earl was a devout Catholic and member of the Knights of Columbus, even serving as Grand Knight from 2006-2007.  He enjoyed classic cars, traveling, reading, and a good nap.  “Poppy” really loved spending time with his grandchildren.  Earl could be found most mornings sitting on his back porch taking in nature.  Earl will be remembered for his wit and dry sense of humor.

A funeral mass will be held at 10 am, on Wednesday, December 27th, 2023 at St John Vianney Catholic Church, 1920 Skyview Dr, Lithia Springs, GA 30122. Reception will be held in the church social hall.  Inurnment will follow at 3 pm at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA with military honors. In lieu of flowers please consider makinga donation in honor of Earl Thibodeau to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Website: https://www.lls.org/
