Earnest Roy Ledford

Earnest Roy Ledford, 76, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014. A native of the Alpharetta area, Earnest spent his entire life as part of the Hopewell / south Forsyth community. Earnest was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. Earnest enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing primarily at Poole's Mill and Lake Lanier, craftsman work, NASCAR and cheering for Earnhardt, going to the mountains, walking his dog, Princeton, playing cards, and visiting his family in Florida. Earnest will be remembered for his simplistic and genuine nature, unwavering work-ethic, and respect for those he knew. He was an amazing father, husband, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know him. Earnest is predeceased by his wife, Patricia Mehlhorn Ledford, parents, Earnest Leonard and Lillie Mae Ledford; sisters, Edna Mae Stanley, Juanita Bartlett, Margaret (Betty) Vaughan, Jo Ann Cochran, and Joyce C. West; and brothers, Bobby Ledford and H. David Ledford. Earnest is survived by his sister, Delia Belle Cochran of Cornelia, Georgia; son, Kim E. Ledford of Warner Robins, Georgia; daughters, Katrina A. Wise of Tampa, Florida, and Sabrina M. Wise of Melbourne, Florida; step-children, Therasa H. Vance of Orlando, Florida, and William M. Heller of Melbourne, Florida; granddaughters Zoe E. Heller and Billie M. Heller of Melbourne, Florida, and Jessica A. Ledford of Warner Robins, Georgia; daughter-in-law Shirley G. Ledford of Warner Robins, Georgia; son-in-law Jason D. Vance of Orlando, Florida; nephews Andy, Chris, Glenn, and Marion Vaughan, and Tommy and Eddie Bartlett, all of whom will serve as pallbearers, as well as numerous other beloved nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends. Visitation is arranged for Friday, March 28, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, Georgia. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church in Alpharetta, Georgia. Interment will immediately follow at the Hopewell Baptist Cemetery. The family and treasured friends at Hopewell Baptist Church will be hosting a catered luncheon from the Midway Mealhouse following the services.
