Eddie Chester, age 48, of Forsyth County, GA, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017. Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Dorothy Jean Chester; son and daughter-in-law, James and Sabrina Chester; sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and Bryan Payne; father-in-law, Junior Kirby; sibling-in-laws, Clifton and Amy Kirby, Ronnie Kirby, Nancy and Eugene Langston, Fred and Virginia Kirby, Larry and Janice Kirby. Loving aunts and uncles, Jimmy and Gail Major, Lewis and Eva Major, G.W. and Sue Major, Gaynelle Major, Lois Johnson, Sylvia Chester, Deborah and Gerald Sweatman, Cathy Jo Chester, Randy and Ivandi Chester, and nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents James and Ada Mae. Eddie worked for Georgia Door and Plywood in Alpharetta for 31 years. He was an avid hunter, loved working on old cars, and he never met a stranger. He restored a 1963 Ford Galaxie and his son helped him restore a 1963 F-100 truck. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 26th at 11:00 am at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Purcell and Rev. Bryan Payne officiating. Interment will follow in New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Thursday from 10:30 am until 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Friday from 9:00 am until hour of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate contributions toward funeral expenses. Those contributions can be made to Ingram Funeral Home in memory of Eddie Chester.
