Maternal grandparents were Victoria Crow and Edward Pritchett. Paternal grandparents were Maude Violet Taylor and Bill Watson Adams. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Susan Lyle Adams and son Charles Michael Adams of Boston Massachusetts. He was born in Athens, Georgia on April 12th, 1952.
He was raised in Habersham County where he attended North Habersham high school. He graduated from Piedmont College with a degree in math. Earlier he had briefly attended Georgia Tech where he developed a long-time love of Georgia Tech and its basketball and football programs. He attended all Georgia Tech home football games. He also loved attending all of his son’s baseball, basketball, soccer and football games.
He had a long career in telecommunications where he was an engineer with AT&T and Lucent Technologies. He later worked for Adex Telecommunications where he got to travel to many places around the country.
He played bridge and loved watching any kind of game show, specifically Jeopardy. He enjoyed listening to all kinds of music. In earlier years, he and Susan enjoyed attending the Atlanta Symphony concerts. He enjoyed going to his high school and college reunions where he had many long-time friendships. He loved finding a new restaurant, especially if it served barbecue. He once saw a tee shirt that said, “so many books, so little time” and he made it a point to have two or three books to read at a time. He was a member of the Cumming Library book club. He also enjoyed working on his and Susan’s genealogy where he was a member of a genealogy focus group. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church where in earlier years he loved to sing in the choir. He could finish most crosswords puzzles in record time and never missed a chance to expand his mind. Before his passing, he was taking an on-line course on quantum mechanics.
Over the years, he and Susan had many pets that they loved dearly. He never wanted to miss a plant sale and he would come home from nurseries where his pick-up truck looked like a mini traveling nursery.
His outgoing personality made many special friends that he treasured. His friends have said that he never said a bad word about anyone, always had a smile on his face and was willing to help anyone in need. He played golf and had three special golf buddies, John, Randy and Sal that he had the time of his life with. He also played tennis and had many friendships with the special people in his tennis league. His friends affectionately called him The Professor or Einstein.
May God bless you, Eddy, with many new challenges and endeavors in your new home in heaven.
