It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family of Edmond (Eddie) Herbert Duffey Jr. announce his passing in the early hours of August 30, 2024, at the age of 62, after a short battle with cancer. Born on February 28, 1962, in Atlanta, GA to Mr. Edmond Herbert Duffey Sr. and Mrs. Sarah Bradley Duffey.
Eddie was a graduate of Parkview High School. For many years Eddie worked alongside his father in the Cemetery Sales and Services business, after his father’s passing in 1991, he changed careers to the Cable Services and Sales Industry which he then introduced to his eventual wife (Lora) and younger sons (Brett and Brandon). He was very proud and loved working alongside his sons just as he had done when he had worked alongside his father. Eddie was a simple man and loved simple things he loved the outdoors, the beach, fishing, being on the lake, football, and NASCAR. He loved to cook and enjoyed good food, and his love for cooking helped to lead his stepson, Patrick, into becoming a wonderful Chef. His love for animals was evident in how in his last days he was more worried about making sure they were being fed and taken care of than his own needs. His big heart and love for his family was also evident in the way that he was always looking out for everyone and making sure WE were all ok. His face lit up every time he saw his granddaughters, his family truly meant everything to him. He always LOVED big and LOVED hard and always cared for others. He also made sure to let us know he LOVED JESUS, and he was ready to go HOME!!!!!!
He is preceded in death by his father, Edmond Herbert (Herb) Duffey, Sr., and his baby sister, Tara Leigh Duffey.
Eddie is survived by his best friend who was married to him, cared for and loved him for over 20 years Lora Duffey McLendon, sons, Patrick (Kelly) Farrell, Steven (Daly) Duffey, Brett Duffey and Brandon (Logan) Duffey whom he adored. He is also survived by three granddaughters, Melody, Allie, and Bexleigh.
He is also survived by his loving mother, Sarah Bradley Duffey, his remaining two sisters, Karen (Cliff) Duffey Jones and Laura (Perkins) Duffey Trousdale, several nephews, a niece, several great nephews, and great nieces.
