Edna Charlene Burruss

Edna Charlene Burruss, 90, of Cumming passed away Friday, November 4, 2022. Edna was a homemaker and made the best fried okra and chicken and dumplings. She was also aseamstress, gardener and worked alongside her husband in their cabinet shop.  Edna was a longtime member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church and is preceded in death by her husband, James Leland Burruss; sisters, Nettie Pearl Johnson, Shirley Lewis; and her brothers, Curtis Morris and Harold Morris.

Survivors include her children, Denise and Richard Boling, Wanda and Phill Bettis, Phil and Benita Burruss, Linda and Andy Berry; grandchildren, Bethany and Jeff Garmon, Keith and Courtney Boling, Tyler and Libby Boling, Emily and Ryan Harren, Barry and Jackie Bettis, Spenser and Kristen Bettis, Carly Burruss, Collin and Sarah Burruss, Laura and Clay Philmon, James Berry and Madison Cagle; a number of great grandchildren; sister, Ova Belle Wray; brother, Jimmy and Marie Morris; sisters-in-law, Betty Strickland, Ineal Burton, Kathleen and Harold Pruitt; brothers-in-law, Billy Burruss, Larry and Mary Burruss, Buddy Phillips; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 8, at 2:00 p.m. at Coal Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. James Berry, Rev. Gary Martin and Rev. Danny Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
