Edward Alvin Smith

Edward Alvin Smith, age 89, of Forsyth County, passed away on May 1, 2016. He was a member of Beaver Ruin Baptist Church. Alvin loyally served our country in the U.S. Army. He is preceded in death by his parents, Will and Leila Smith; brothers, Jewell Smith, Jesse Smith, Jerry Smith; sisters, Edna Hamon, Montine Nix, Mamie Smith; granddaughter, Casey Bump. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Margaret Shadburn Smith; children, Becky Smith Bump of Cumming, Robert (Melanie) Smith of Cumming; sisters, Pearl Lathem of Cumming, Aldine Bruce of Morrow; brothers and sister-in-law, James Smith of Acworth, Bill Smith of Cumming, Mark (Barbara) Smith of Cumming; 3 grandchildren, Mattie Smith, Dawson Smith, Macey Smith. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Millwood, and Rev. Roger Shadburn officiating. The interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM, on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service.
