It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edwin Adams (Ed), who passed away on February 17th, 2023 at the age of 87. Ed was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend who touched the lives of many during his lifetime.
Ed was born on July 26th 1936 in Darlington, SC to Mary & Edward Adams. He grew up in Darlington, SC on a farm where he learned a great work ethic. After completing his education, he went on to pursue a career as a UPS driver, where he made a name for himself as an extremely hard worker and received numerous awards. He was also one of the oldest UPS drivers in South Florida, as well as one of the hardest workers in that region. His supervisors told him that he completed routes quicker than the people half his age!
Ed was a devoted family man who loved his wife Penny deeply. They were married for 63 years, and their love was evident to all who knew them. Together, they had one child, Robyn, who in turn blessed them with 2 grandchildren, Andrew and Tim. Ed cherished his family and was always there to offer support, guidance, most of all, his love for them. Ed would do anything for his family and he always did everything he could to make sure they lived a happy and comfortable life.
In addition to his family, Ed had a strong love and devotion to follow after Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior. Ed and his wife Penny would pray for each other every night. Ed and Penny went to River of Life Church, in Cumming, GA where they are loved like a family.
Ed will be deeply missed by his family, friends, church, and all who knew him. His memory will live on through the countless lives he touched and the legacy he leaves behind. We pray that the lives he touched and through the evidence of his actions and the fruits of the spirit we saw in him, that all will see the love of Jesus Christ, so that all may join him in Heaven.
A celebration of his life will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 23rd, 2023 at River of Life Church in Cumming, GA off Canton Highway.
We are celebrating Ed’s life and that he stood face to face with his Creator and Lord, and heard the words “Well done, my good and faithful servant”. We believe Ed was jumping and dancing with joy in his new heavenly body, and will be in endless praise to our Heavenly Father.
II Corinthians 5:6 So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, 7 for we walk by faith, not by sight. 8 Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 9 So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.
In the combining weeks be on the lookout for Edwin's full story, additional pictures and other information. It will be on his website: edwinlovelleadams.com
