Elaine Stone-Drummond

Elaine Stone-Drummond of Alpharetta, Georgia passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the age of 47.

Elaine was born August 16, 1967 to loving parents Charles and Linda Stone. She grew up in Tucker, Georgia, and attended Shamrock High School in Decatur. Her education continued at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina; and she earned her PhD from Emory University in Atlanta. She went on to teach Spanish at Wheaton College and Northern Illinois University.

Elaine adored and is survived by her two children, Clara and William; her parents; her sister, Jennifer (Jeremy Rogers) Stone; aunts Susan (Ted) Harris, Carolyn (Ron) Baker, Betty (Don) Hartzog, and Phyllis (Sid) Brown; cousins, nieces and nephews; and her friend and ex-husband Cary Drummond.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Byars Funeral Home located at 155 Professional Park Drive, Cumming, GA 30040; www.byarsfuneralhome.com; (678) 455-5815. The family asks that friends and family feel welcome to speak a few words at the service; wear bright and casual clothing; and that donations be made to the Crohn''s and Colitis Foundation of America www.ccfa.org in lieu of flowers.
