Elda Colella

Elda Colella (nee Romano), age 82, of Cumming, GA, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2022. Elda was born in Castel di Sangro, Italy on May 22, 1939, daughter to the late Pasquale and Lucia Romano. She was a selfless and hard-working Italian woman with a strong faith who loved cooking, dancing, singing, making people laugh and spending time with family.

 Elda immigrated to Cleveland, Ohio in 1964 at the age of 25. She learned the English language, worked different jobs, and was a seamstress at home, creating beautiful clothing for many people. Elda performed with an Italian folklore group called I Gagliardi' in Canton, OH, in which she sang and danced on stage. She was also a member of the CASA Italia Foundation in Cleveland for many years. After moving to Georgia in 2003, Elda joined the St. Brigid choir and loved to sing at mass. One of her greatest passions throughout her life was cooking Italian feasts for her family and friends. Her Italian heritage and culture were always a big part of her life which she passed on to her children and grandchildren.

 Elda was the beloved wife of Matthew LaSalle (and formerly of the late Anthony P. Colella). Loving mother of Serena Sabo (David), Dan (Diana McClurg), Connie Kross (David), Mark (Kristen). Nonna to Austin, Tyler, and Colin Sabo; Camden, Kelton, and Cadence Kross; Nick and Emily Colella. Dear sister of Clarice, Elena, Assunta, George and the late Mario, Orienta, Guido, and Onorino. 

 Friends and family received at Ingram Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Ave, Cumming, GA on Thursday, February 3^rd from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, February 4^th at 11:00 am at St. Brigid Catholic Church, 3400 Old Alabama Rd, Johns Creek, GA. Private interment with family following the mass at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens, Cumming, GA.

 Memorial contributions can be made to the American Lung Association in honor of Elda Colella’s memorial wall.
