Eleanor Tompkins Joyner, age 84, of Cumming, GA formerly of Ashville, NC, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012. Eleanor was a substitute teacher for many years. She was an accomplished Bible Scholar and taught multiple Bible studies. She is preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Joyner. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Alec and Nancy Joyner of Woodstock; daughters and sons-in-law, Loette and Jim Kump of Columbus, GA, Pam and Kenneth Avery of Cumming, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Brenda Tompkins; sister and brother-in-law, Clair and Tom McDonough; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and other loving relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. at North Lanier Baptist Church on Atlanta Road in Cumming, GA. with Rev. Jack Kennington officiating.
