Ellorie Vaughan Smith, age 94, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2015. Ellorie was a life-long resident of Forsyth County. She was a loyal wife, Christian mother, and a loving Nana to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family always came first in her life. Ellorie was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Silver City. She taught her children by faithful example the importance of attending Sunday School and Church. After her graduation from North Georgia College she taught for several years in Forsyth and Dawson Counties. Ellorie served as First Lady of the Georgia Poultry Federation during her husband's tenure as President. She had a great passion for cooking and was featured in Family Circle Magazine for her delicious chicken recipes. She loved to travel and visited places around the globe. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, A.C. Smith, Jr.; her parents, Claude and Connie (Fagan) Vaughan; her two brothers, R.C. and Dowe Vaughan and great grandson, Cody Smith. She is survived by her children, Terry and Wanda Smith, Judi and Dave Jenkins, Phil and Deborah Smith; her grandchildren, Philecia and Sam Shanks, Terry Jack and Alison Smith, Arthur Smith, Heather and Chris Strack, Ashley and Becky Smith and Drew and Amy Jenkins; step grandchildren, Micheal Ingram and Brian Dyer; six great grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and her special sister-in-law, Gerry Vaughan. The family would like to give very special thanks to her devoted caregivers; Pam Watson, Susan Watson, Denise Loggins, Debbie Burruss, Ebony Gresham, and to the many others who were such a special blessing to us over the past years. We thank you from the depths of our hearts. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 27, at 4:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rubin Smith and Dr. Shannon Mize officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 125, Cumming, GA 30028.
