Elsie "June" Wallis

Mrs. Elsie "June" Wallis passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Gold City Nursing Home in Dahlonega, GA. Mrs. Wallis was born on October 26, 1930 in Cherokee County to the late Corbett and Odell Satterfield.

Mrs. Wallis was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Cumming, GA. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and taking care of her family. She will also be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wallis is preceded in death by her first husband, Bobby McGinnis; daughter, Angela June Wallis; brothers, M.C. Satterfield, Jr. and Glen Satterfield.

Mrs. Wallis is survived by her husband of 47 years, Joe Wallis; her children, Vickie McGinnis, Ricky (Angie) McGinnis, and Christie Wallis (Jim) Downs; grandchildren, Valerie (Keith) Shadburn, Bethany (Brian) McCoy, Jodie and Brody Downs; Great Grandchildren, Jake and Avery Shadburn and Bryson and Mason McCoy; brother, Marcus Satterfield and special caretaker and friend, Cathy Nguyen.

Graveside services for Mrs. Wallis will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Cumming, GA with Pastor Travis Bridgeman officiating.

The family will receive friends at Byars Funeral Home in Cumming, GA on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon.
