Emily Cox Gillespie

Emily Gillespie, 101, “Teeny,” passed away on March 10, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Lee Gillespie and son, Richard Gillespie. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Bill Turner, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

An Atlanta native, she was a graduate of Chamblee High School class of 1941. She is a World War II veteran, having served as a SPAR in the US Coast Guard.

The funeral service for Emily Gillespie will be on March 15th, 2025, at 11:00AM at the New Hope United Methodist Church, 4815 Dawsonville Highway, Gainesville, GA 30506, with interment in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the New Hope United Methodist Church or charity of your choice.
