Eveylyn Mae Witherow

Evelyn Mae Witherow, a lifelong resident of Forsyth County, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband Roscoe Witherow and son, Kenneth Witherow. Survivors include daughters and Son-in-laws, Patricia and Dale Cooper of Royston, GA; Martha and Joe Roberts of Cumming, GA; sister Betty Ann Ramey of Cumming, sisters-in-law Pauline Long of Cumming, and Virginia Woody of Cumming. Other survivors include her grandchildren, Gary Cooper, Letisha Wallace, Nicole Witherow, and Michelle Witherow; great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews also survive.

Born on December 13, 1943; Evelyn spent her entire life in Forsyth County, GA. Building that life with her husband Roscoe, Evelyn raised many generations of her family starting at the young age of 15: her own children, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. These generations could always count on Evelyn, "Mom" "Granny" "Mawmaw Witherow" or "Aunt Mae" to make a great country breakfast, fixing their jeans, letting them stay home from school or picking them up from school when sick; but also teaching them life lessons and putting them to work raking leaves, picking eggs in the many chicken houses she worked, shelling pecans, or cleaning up the kitchen. Those generations could always count on her TV being graced with Little House on the Prairie, Perry Mason, or World Championship Wrestling, and her radio graced with the most beautiful gospel songs, country music, or Elvis. She was a God loving woman who attended church regularly and was at peace that she would soon be home with Jesus and her deeply missed loved ones.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 8th, 2024, at 1:00 PM, in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Carrell Pruitt officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 7th, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and again on Friday, from 10:00 AM until the hour of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Ingram Funeral Home to cover remaining funeral expenses.
