Mr. Floyd E. Mayo, age 83 of Gainesville, GA, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, GA. He was a retired school teacher and Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Blanche Mayo; brothers, J.W. Mayo, James Mayo, Brice Mayo and Loyd Mayo (twin); sisters, Ruby Horton, Meredith Plummer and Virginia Power Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Geneva Mayo of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Danny Clinton of Cumming and Charlotte and Phil Pruitt of Gainesville; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Robin Mayo of Alpharetta, Morris and Suzy Mayo of Dawsonville, Loy and Beth Mayo of Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Hilda and George Crenshaw of Pitts, GA; sisters-in-law, Voncile Mayo of Pitts, GA, Myrtle Mayo of Columbus, Mildred Evans of Murrayville, GA; 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren along with numerous favorite nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 29th at 11:00 am at New Hope United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Patton officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, Aug. 28th from 5:00 pm until 9:00. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to the New Hope United Methodist Church Building Fund - 4815 Dawsonville Hwy. - Gainesville, GA 30506. Ingram Funeral Home Crematory, Cumming, GA is in charge of the arrangements.
