Foster "Gene" Bennett

Foster (Gene) Bennett , age 86, of Cumming, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at home with his family beside him. He was an active member of Living Stones Baptist Church. He was involved in freemasonry as a member of the Indian Springs Masonic Lodge, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, and a member of Yaarab Shrine. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy. Mr. Bennett is preceded in death by his parents, Eunice and C.W. Bennett, Sr.;sister, Doris Heaton; brother; Bobby Bennett and son-in-law, Richard E. Martin. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Julia "Judy" Bennett of Cumming, GA, and daughters, Cathy (Amos) Fields, Judy Martin, Sandra (Scotty) Hames; brother, C.W. (Bessie) Bennett, Jr. of Lithia Springs, GA; nine grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 22, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
