Frank Jay Alderman, Jr., also known as "Butch" to friends and family; age 70, of Clarkesville, passed
away on November 2,2017 after an extended battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Mr. Alderman was born September 6,1947 in Sneads, FL to the late Frank Jay Alderman Sr. And
Elizabeth Essie Bailey Alderman.
He was raised in the Cumming, Ga area as well as the Leon and Jackson County areas of Florida. He
attended the University of West Florida, as well as Lively University in pursuit of a draftsman degree. He
worked for many years as a builder in the Forsyth county area. During his time in Forsyth county, he
enjoyed coaching football and baseball and was also a member of the Forsyth County Fire Department.
He later moved back to Florida, where he worked in multiple locations, producing homes and creating
development projects for the underprivileged. He later became a commercial contractor, traveling
throughout the country producing stores for various companies. After retiring, he became known for his
love of antiques and carpentry.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his brother Timothy John Alderman.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law; Joseph and Jill Alderman of Clermont, GA; Clint
and Elisabeth Alderman of Clarkesville, GA; daughter Carmen Alderman of Tallahassee, FL; daughter
Sandra Alderman of Marianna, FL; daughter and son-in-law Jessica and Alejandro Garrido of Alto, GA; 12
grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; Brothers Michael Alderman of Marianna, FL; Brother and
sister-in-law Jason and Lisa Alderman of Chipley, FL; sister and brother-in-law Beth and John Culp of
Cumming,GA. Also surviving are numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles.
The family will receive friends and family at Byars Funeral Home from 4PM until 9PM on Sunday,
November 5,2017.
A graveside service will be held at 2PM, November 6,2017 at Shady Grove Baptist Church with
Donnie Cagle officiating.
