Franklin David Hickey

Franklin David Hickey, aka Grandad, age 78, went to be with his Lord on June 16th, 2024. He was born August 17, 1945, in Atlanta, GA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Juanita Hickey; brother, Henry Hickey Jr.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Grace McKinzie; brothers-in-law, Jerry McKinzie, Gerald McKinzie, and Tommy Swancey.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Brenda McKinzie Hickey; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Jeff Phillips; son and daughter-in-law, John and Lisa Hickey; grandchildren, Stewart and Christa Conkwright, Mason and Kanan Conkwright, McKinzie Hickey, Dylan Hickey, Aaron and Stephanie Garrett, Ashley and Darryl McKenzie, Jake and Ansley Phillips, Taylor and Connor Davis; 6 great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, James H. and Mona Hickey; sisters-in-law, Jean Hickey, Glenda McKinzie, Joan Swancey, Jean Thornburg, Teresa McKinzie; brother-in-law, Stanley McKenzie; several nieces and nephews and many other precious family members.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 20th, 2024, at 2:00 PM, at Cross Plains Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Purcell, Rev. Tyler Goode, Rev. Zach McKinzie, and Rev. Richard Brown officiating. The interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 19th, from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM, and again on Thursday from 9:00 AM until the hour of service.
