Fredrick “Fred” Ernst Brauer

Fredrick “Fred” Ernst Brauer, 84, of Cumming, GA passed away quietly in his home on October 13, 2023.  Fred was born October 16, 1938 in Kansas City, KS to Herman Brauer and Pearl (Dearinger) Brauer.

Fred is survived by his wife of 63 years, Georgia (Bundshuh) Brauer, his children, Steven Brauer and wife Katie Taylor of Carrboro, NC, David Brauer and wife Kari Sterling of Minneapolis, MN, and Heather Hale and husband Doug Hale of Alpharetta, GA, his grandchildren, Beau Brauer of Pasadena, CA, Benjamin and Ella Brauer of Minneapolis, MN,  Ryan, Avery and Charlotte Symons of Alpharetta, GA and sisters, Barbara Houtman of Basehor, KS and Marilyn Magenheimer of Shawnee Mission, KS.

He graduated for Washington High School in Kansas City, KS and obtained a Bachelor and Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from University of Kansas.  He spent 32 years with Exxon in New Jersey, Phoenix, Denver, Anchorage, and Baton Rouge. Following retirement, he did consulting work in Saudi Arabia, Canada, China, Venezuela and throughout the United States.

Memorials may be made to Christ the Shepard Lutheran Church or the Atlanta Community Food Bank.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the Shepard Lutheran Church in Alpharetta, GA. The family will receive friends at the  church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
