Gene McGinnis

Gene McGinnis, age 90, of Cumming, GA., passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2022.He was a member and deacon at Brookwood Baptist Church in Cumming, GA. Gene was a 50 + year member of the Lafayette Lodge, and a member of the Cumming OES. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hillis and Floys McGinnis.

He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Louise McGinnis; children, Gary and Trena McGinnis, Kay and Don Barron, Donna McGinnis; daughter-in-law, Margie Conner; grandchildren, Jeremy and Wendy McGinnis, Amy and Jason McGehee, Kelly and Kyle Wilkerson, Brandon and Lindsey Barron, Crystal and Jonathan Fowler, Matthew Dooley and Kristina LaPlant, Alaina Dooley and Liam Kantwill; great grandchildren, Sydney McGinnis, Ben McGinnis, Ryan McGinnis, Faith McGehee, Ethan and Madi McGehee, Addison Gardner, Easton Wilkerson, Killian Wilkerson, Jack Barron, Kate Barron, Mia Fowler, and Jonathan Fowler; along with many other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Brookwood Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Weldy, Rev. Doug Carnes, Rev. Donnie Nix, and Dr. Scott Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service.
