Geneva Mayo of Gainesville, passed away on October 17, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church. Above all things, Geneva was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a friend to all. She is preceded in death by her parents; T.E. and Emily Barron; husband, Floyd Edgar Mayo; brother, Sylvia Barron; sister, Eunice Ivey. She is survived by her children; Cheryl (Danny) Clinton of Cumming, David (Robin) Mayo of Alpharetta, Morris (Suzy) Mayo of Dawsonville, Loy (Beth) Mayo of Gainesville, Charlotte (Phil) Pruitt of Gainesville; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Mildred Evans of Gainesville; loving nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 19, at 3:00 p.m. at New Hope United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Patton officiating. The interment will follow at the New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, October 18, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Mrs. Mayo will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 2:15 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the New Hope United Methodist Church Building Fund at 4815 Dawsonville Highway, Gainesville, GA 30506.
