George Louis Helmken

George Louis Helmken, age 76, of Cumming, GA, recently relocated from Chicago, IL, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018. George and his wife, Jeanene, celebrated 53 years together in September 2017. George served in the U.S. Army in Korea for 2 years as a tank gunner and worked as a lithographer in the printing trade. He coached little league baseball in the community where he lived with his family, and was an avid softball player for many years. George enjoyed spending time with family and friends, discussing current events, politics and sports. He had a big heart.

He is survived by his loving wife Jeanene Helmken; his children, Keith Helmken of Cumming, GA, Paul Helmken of Prescott, AZ and Colleen Helmken of Port Chester, New York; his grandchildren Ben and Sam Helmken also of Prescott, AZ; his sisters Joan Sanzenbacher of Waterville, MN and Nancy Drozd of Dayton, OH; along with many friends, old and new.

A memorial gathering will be held for George Louis Helmken on Saturday, April 7th, 2018, at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
