George Roland Thyne

George Roland Thyne went to his Heavenly home on December 28, 2016. He passed away at Halcyon Hospice in Atlanta, GA at the age of 68.

George is preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Ann Thyne and his father, James "Scotty" Thyne.

George is lovingly remembered by his brother, Jim Thyne and his wife Charli of Pinehurst, NC, his half-brother, George Gamble of West Palm Beach, FL, his cousin Susie Mock and her husband, Tim of Conyers, GA, cousins Steve and Mark Gross of FL; his nephew, Tom Thyne and his wife Julie of Pearland, TX, his niece, Cami Randall of DeBary, FL, and his dearest and most faithful friend, John Mariner of Richmond, VA.

George was born in West Palm Beach, FL on September 4, 1948. He graduated from Forest Hills High School in West Palm Beach, FL and went on to study at Jacksonville State and Mercer University. He worked in retail sales.

George enjoyed taking walks, watching football and movies.

The memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church Chapel located at 1328 w. Peachtree Street, Atlanta, GA 30309 on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 10:30 AM, with his brother, the Reverend Jim Thyne officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christ Fellowship Church, 1425 Midland Road, Southern Pines, NC 28387.
