Georgia Hall Price

Georgia Hall Price, 91, of Cumming, GA passed away August 27, 2023. Mrs. Price was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas D. Price in 2007.

Georgia Price was born in Litchfield, Illinois in 1932 on a day which she said was one of the hottest days of the year and there was no air conditioning in those days. Her father was an Illinois State’s Attorney and also president of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association at one time. Her mother, and her entire family, were very musical. Her grandfather, Otto Funk, was in the Guinness Book of Records because he walked across the US playing a violin “every step of the way.” Georgia studied music at the University of Illinois and was an excellent pianist, flautist, and singer. Who can forget her rendition of the Bumble Boogie on the piano? She dedicated her musical talents mostly to the Church and she was a music director or performer most of her life.

In 1948, Georgia lost her mother and her sister in a tragic car accident—Georgia was only 16 at the time. Now with resurrection to eternal life she can see them again after an absence of 74 years.

Georgia married Thomas Price, a career Air Force pilot, in 1956. They raised four children while travelling to Tennessee, North Carolina, upstate New York, the Philippines, Washington D.C. and Florida. Georgia had to travel with the four children, ages ½ to 6, from New York to the Philippines in one move. 

A funeral mass will be held 1:00 pm Friday, September 1, 2023, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church with Father Rev. Diosmar Natad officiating. There will be a reception at the church following the funeral mass.  Interment will be held 1:30 pm Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 6:00 pm officiated by Deacon Don at Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, GA 30040.
