Geraldine B. Dees

Geraldine B. Dees, age 80 of Buford passed away Monday, December 29, 2008 at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her Husband Ed Dees in 1988.

Mrs. Dees was in the choir at the church and a 20-year member. She was an avid swimmer and a member of the YMCA masters swim team. She loved teaching the children at the YMCA how to swim giving them swim lessons.

Survivors include her son and daughter-In-law, Tommy & Lynn Dees of Buford; sisters, Doris Parnell and Faye Tucker both of Brunswick. Two granddaughters, Dana & Russell Frasier of Auburn, Georgia, Erin & Rob Shawver of Flowery Branch and one grandson, William Thomas Frasier also survived.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 31st at First Baptist Church of Brunswick, Georgia with the body to lie in state at the church from 11 a.m. until service time. Rev. Jim Crandall will officiate. Interment will follow at Palmetto Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 30th from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Byars Funeral Home in Cumming, Georgia.
