Geraldine Bruce Strickland

Geraldine Bruce Strickland age 79 of Cumming passed away Tuesday December 6,2011. Geraldine committed her life to the Lord at Lawrenceville First Baptist Church as a young girl and is now a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Cumming, Ga. Geraldine loved taking long walks, tending her roses and her flower beds, canning vegetables, traveling and cooking for her family. During the last eight months she had made several close friends at Tara Plantation where she resided. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Strickland; parents, Carl T. and Vennie Irene Kerby Bruce; brother Carlton Eugene Bruce and sisters Tyrus Lorraine Britt and Martha Wood. Geraldine is survived by her son Michael H. Wilbanks and good friend Diana Wells; son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey F. and Bronya T.Wilbanks; grandson, Johnathon Wilbanks and partner John Fay; step granddaughter and husband Kristi Corey Moss and great granddaughter Samantha Moss. She is also survived by sisters and brother-in-laws Florene and James Wages, Blondine and Charles Cooper, Myrtice and Herbert Arnold, Bernice Raybon, and Nancy Cadwell; brother Douglas Bruce. There are also a number of nieces and nephews. The family will be receiving friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 7th from 4:00 pm till 9:00 pm. There will be a graveside service on Thursday at 2:00 pm at Gwinnett Memorial Park on Hwy 29 in Lawrenceville, GA. The service will be handled by Rev. Ricky Bird and Rev. Gerald Blackburn. Ingram Funeral Home Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
