Gerard P Gomes

Gerard P. Gornes Jr., age 25, of Gainesville, GA passed away unexpectedly Tuesday August 19, 2014. He was born December 31, 1988 in Dayton, OH.

He is survived by his parents, Gerard P. Sr. and Helen (Hoying) Gornes; siblings, Heather Gornes, Jennifer Gornes, and Michael Crabtree; grandmother, Rosalie Hoying; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a multitude of close friends. Among those, his "sister" Sara Smith and two of his best buddies, Zach Hoying and Ryan McIntosh.

Gerard was a member of Kettering Children''s Choir and 2007 graduate of Carroll High School. He was studying Fire Science at Lanier Tech College in GA. He was a disc golf enthusiast, fish whisperer, friend to all birds, loved camping, hiking, and the great outdoors. He was a beautiful person with an infectious smile, the biggest heart, and a hug that would last you all week.

Memorial Service is Tuesday September 9, 2014 from 2pm to 7pm. American Legion Post 7, 2343 Riverside Dr., Gainesville, GA 30501.

Father Chris Worland officiated a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, August 25, 2014 at the Church of the Ascension, Dayton, OH and burial followed at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton, OH.
