Gertrude McCarty McDonald

Gertrude McCarty McDonald, age 89, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023. She was born in 1933 to the late Silas Samuel and Fannie Frances McCarty. She was a member of Midway United Methodist Church in Alpharetta, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her husband, James McDonald, and son, Eddie McDonald.

A treasured member of the Midway community, she loved her family, her friends, her church, and her daily Bible study. She was good at helping things grow be they gardens, flowers, or children.

She is survived by her children Mary Jones, Lee McDonald (Tina), and Sarrah Ellen McDonald; daughter-in-law Cheryl McDonald; grandchildren Jamie McDonald Riedel (Adric), Jeremy McDonald (Cassie), Daniel Jones, Pierce Jones, Camille Jones, Rachel Sterns (Chris), Timothy Roton (Kristin) and Ryan Roton (SaraRae), and Michelle Allen (Seth); numerous great-grandchildren, and many other loving relatives. 

On Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at 1:00 pm, the family will receive visitors in the Gathering Area at Midway United Methodist Church in Alpharetta, Georgia. A memorial service will be held in the Chapel at 2:00 with Reverend Amanda Lane officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Midway United Methodist Church in memory of Gertrude McDonald.
