Glenn Rhodes Parrish, age 90, of Atlanta, Ga., passed away Monday, October 25, 2010. He was a member of Creekside Methodist Church in Cumming. Glenn was an Army Air Force Veteran of World War II. He was in the 316th troop carrier group, a member of the 9th Air Force as an engineer on C-47s and D-C 3s. His unit was the first to drop paratroopers on D-Day and his group received a Presidential Citation . He is survived by his wife of 69 years Violet Parrish of Atlanta; children, Debra Russo of Suwanee, Vicki and Joseph Polo of Atlanta; grandchildren, Danielle Nesbitt, Anthony Russo, and Victoria Polo; and sister, Lois Williams of New Mexico. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2010, at 11:00 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Sawnee View Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Atlanta chapter of The American Heart Association. Ingram Funeral Home Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
